Pretty In Pink Foundation is honored to receive a generous grant from Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas, which will help save lives. The $16,000 gift will be used to pay for medical treatment for elderly breast cancer patients in Wake County who need financial assistance.
These funds will help remove the financial barrier to care for these patients, paying for surgery, chemotherapy administration and radiation treatment. Pretty In Pink Foundation is so thankful for the continuing support of Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas. This grant is one of the reasons Pretty In Pink Foundation has been able to help more and more patients every year.
“We are so grateful to be one of the organizations chosen to receive a grant from Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas,” said Becky Horn, Executive Director of Pretty In Pink Foundation. “These funds will assist Wake County breast cancer patients who need our help now more than ever and will give them a greater chance for survival.”
The grant will be used to help patients like Rosalind Ellwood, who lives in Cary, and is a past beneficiary of a previous Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas grant. “I was diagnosed at a time in my life where I did not have the financial resources and I couldn’t have come out the other side of breast cancer so well without the help from Pretty In Pink Foundation,” said Ellwood. “This grant is so important and I’m extremely grateful to both Pretty In Pink and Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas.”
Pretty In Pink Foundation was one of 15 nonprofits to receive an award from Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas last grant cycle. The funds are designated to serve Wake County seniors, indigent seniors, or other vulnerable populations.
