Record-Breaking Pink Pumps & Bow Ties Gala Celebrates 20 years

Pretty In Pink Foundation hosted its 8th Annual Pink Pumps & Bow Ties Gala on October 19th, celebrating two decades of lifesaving support for breast cancer patients across North Carolina. The sold-out event, held at the Angus Barn’s Pavilion, was a record-breaking success, raising nearly $430,000 to further the Foundation’s mission — financially assisting uninsured and under-insured breast cancer patients with their lifesaving medical treatments.

The fundraising gala brought together hundreds of guests, including community leaders, supporters, and sponsors, to commemorate 20 years of impact and raise critical funds to help ensure that no one in North Carolina faces breast cancer alone. With dazzling attire and heartfelt stories, attendees enjoyed an unforgettable evening of celebration and philanthropy.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who helped make this gala our most successful one yet,” said Becky Horn, executive director of Pretty In Pink Foundation. “The funds raised will have a profound impact, helping to pay for surgery, chemotherapy administration and radiation treatments for breast cancer patients in our state who are battling this deadly disease right now.”

“It was heartwarming to see the community come together to celebrate 20 years of Pretty In Pink,” said Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, founder of Pretty In Pink Foundation. “When I started this organization two decades ago, I was hoping to help 10 women a year in Wake County. Since 2004 we’ve assisted thousands of breast cancer patients. Clearly there’s a need and it’s so gratifying to see so many others supporting our vision to ensure that every breast cancer patient in North Carolina gets the same chance to fight this dreaded disease.”

In 2023, Pretty In Pink Foundation served more than 500 Champions across North Carolina. The non-profit helps more and more patients every year and has never turned away a qualified applicant.
